Brandon is BATMAN!!

I love that Brandon's teacher takes pictures at school this year!  These make me so excited!!

He decided himself this morning that he wanted to wear this, the shirt, and hat!  This is not our normal Monday outfit, but he's so cute how could I say no!?!  Plus, look, he has a twin!!

Happy Birthday Brandon!!

I can't believe it has already been three years!

Three years ago I was working in my room, getting ready for the first day of school.  Today I am sitting in a hospital in St. George, Utah.

Three years ago I had no idea what my life was going to be like, and what the first day of school (the next day) would hold!  Today I wonder what next week will look like as Brandon, Tyler and I all have our first days of school.

Three years ago I never knew how blessed we would be by our little man!  Today I am so thankful for not only an amazing, gifted, challenging little boy, but also a beautiful princess!

Happy birthday to my little man!  Here is our invitation that we made to celebrate his birthday!  Even though the date is now wrong, we are still going to celebrate next weekend!

7 - possessions

I am reading 7 by Jen Hatmaker right now for bible study. This book is amazing, and if you haven't read it yet, you should!!

Here is what she said in the beginning of chapter three.

I challenge you! For the month of March, can you find 7 things in your house to give away!? Can you find things you have that you don't know why you have? Our goal is 210 items, and clothes can only count as 49 items, even if you give away 200 items of clothing!!

I can't wait to do this one, as I am preparing for chapter 2 clothes, and just finished chapter 1-food!!

Frozen

All Christmas break I had been debating whether or not I should take B to the movies to see Frozen.

This morning I got out of the shower and decided if I didn't go today we'd never know, so I hurried and got ready! (I got out of the shower at 8:45, and the movie started at 9:20!)

I went downstairs with B's clothes in hand and gave him my phone to watch the preview. He was laughing and really watching!! That decided it for me, we'd give this thing a go!!

When we got to the theater I was even more excited to find out that B was FREE!! Kids under three are free at Harkins! I love it! That means between Tyler and I we'll take B to see all the cute kids movies that come out until B's birthday!!

When we got there the previews had already started so we quickly took a seat on the end in the second row.

B was so excited to be watching toons on the BIG TV!! We saw a preview for a cute Lego movie with Batman, so that may be a daddy and B date!

If you haven't seen Frozen yet I would recommend going!! B and I both loved it!!

Thoughtful Tuesday

My favorite parenting bright idea we've had lately was moving bed time earlier. Now that Brandon is in school twice a week, he has only been taking one nap most days. This makes for some grouchy evenings. To help this we moved up our bedtime routine to start at 6 now instead of 7. This puts B in bed no later than 7:15ish, which has been great for this mama!!  Natalie has been going down between 6:15 and 7, which is working well too. Even when we try and keep her up later, she's still up at 5, so we've stopped trying to keep her up.

Thoughtful Tuesday

Pacifiers . . .

It took four months, but Natalie takes a pacifier sometimes now. She hasn't been huge into them, unlike Brandon who loved his! We took his away on his second birthday. It wasn't too bad, and he only asked for it a few times. He doesn't ask for it very often any more, and he doesn't steal Natalie's very often either.

Friday Five

1.  I can't believe we have a 2 year old!!!

2.  My aunt is in town for the next week to help us celebrate Brandon's birthday!  My grandma also comes into town today to help us celebrate for the weekend!

3.  Today was my last day getting ready for my new class on Monday!!  I can't believe I will have a class of 26 students starting Monday.  Where did the summer go!?

4.  I started a new book, Gone Girl, since we are going to be doing it for our Messy House Book Club.  I haven't really gotten into it yet, I have been on a dry spell since I finished all of those Karen Kingsbury novels.  I heard it was great though, so I really need to find time to read.

5.  I am super excited for Brandon's party tomorrow!  Stay tuned for pictures!!

Friday Five

1.  We are so excited Susan is here visiting us!! It's been about a year and a half since the last time she was here!

2. I can't believe next week is already the last week of summer, and my last week home with the kids!! I am going to miss being home with them.

3. My niece is the cutest!

4. I am so excited for my new adventure with my teacher blog!! I hope to start a regular posting schedule over there!

5. Brandon will be two in just a few weeks. People always tell you that high school flies by, and at times it felt like it did, but I can't believe how quickly time flies when you have kids!! It feels like just yesterday we found out we were pregnant with Brandon, and now Natalie is already three months old!!

Thoughtful Tuesday

I have loved being off since the end of April, and I am not looking forward to going back to work and leaving my kiddos for ten hour days again. At the same time I am really looking forward to the routine that being in school brings. Hopefully we will be able to get Natalie into a pretty good routine so I'll be able to work out before work, or after bed time. I'm also going to work really hard to make sure that when I get home, until bed time it is all about my kids. I know these years are going to go by quickly, and then they won't want to hang out with me.
